Desktop Speaker
"To design a Multimedia Desktop Speaker to be sold in the shop visited (Skandium, SW3 2EP) with design inspiration taken from the surrounding area."
In response to this brief, A very split architecture along Brompton Rd was identified, with new style buildings on the ground floor and old, untouched architecture above. A common appearance throughout developed towns and cities in the UK.

To reflect this aesthetic to the design of speaker, an overall organic form was developed with a split line that represented that of the architecture. An organic material (Mahogany) was used to represent the old architecture and a glossy injection moulded plastic base to mimic that of the modern architecture identified on the ground floor.

The grill designed was a design feature that focussed the consumer's eye to the speaker with the pattern causing you to travel round with the flow in the arches.
